Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.

Here is a Helix Setlist file (.hls) that I prepared as a baseline for evaluating/tweaking preamps when the Helix is connected to a DT25. The Setlist is filled with presets from 02A thru 18C which successively use each of the Helix preamps. IOW, not Amp, not Amp+Cab, but specifically Preamp - as is generally appropriate as a front-end into a DT25 which provides the power amp and cab/speaker part of the full signal chain. The presets are named to match the Preamps (with slight mods for brevity where necessary). The presets each default to sounding just the Preamp and a bit of Reverb in Snapshot1, but there is a common set of "extras" available when you go into stomp mode. Presets 01A - 01D are slightly different. 01A - 01C are 3 "Lab" (laboratory) presets showing off 3 different pre- and post- Preamp sets of FXs. Preset 01D is a near-copy of the 'DT25-DT50 Remote' template, provided so that the assigments for remote MIDI control of the DT25 are easily available for copying if desired. The entire set of presets is approximately level-matched, at least to the point of no HUGE surprises! In general, the preamps are configured "as defaulted" - and ready for you to dial in details which will best match your chosen guitar(s) and sensibilities. Of course you will likely wish to change the provided FX to suit your tastes, but IMO what's here is a better starting point than an empty line, and will let you begin with alot of non-FRFR (as generally appropriate) for your DT25. This setlist has now also been updated so that each preset has a setting for the Powercab+ (Speaker: Cream Mic: 57 Dyn) so now you can use the setlist with either the DT25/50 or the Powercab. In either case, there is no speaker/cab/IR emulation being used in the Heiix. That job is left to the DT or PC. If the file downloads as .hlx, change the extension to .hls before importing it into HX Edit. Enjoy!
